Indian skipper and newly-married, Virat Kohli is one of the marketable personalities in the contemporary world. He is widely known for endorsing many brands.
The highest paid celebrity has hiked his endorsement fee to Rs. 5 crores a day for new contracts.
As per the recent reports in Economic Times, ‘Too Yumm snacks” has now signed Virat Kohli as their brand ambassador for two years.
‘Too Yumm snacks’ company is owned by Sanjiv RP-Goenka group. The reputed company has sales of 15 crores per month but they are keen to double that by March.
In an attempt to increase the FMCG business to reach INR 500 crore, they have roped in Virat Kohli, so that everything happens according to plan in the next year.
“The contract with Kohli is for two years and currently limited to this brand (Too Yumm), but we may explore a future relationship with him for other FMCG categories as and when we enter them,” quoted Sanjiv Goenka.
They already have plans in place to install the FMCG greenfield manufacturing plant in Telangana with an investment of around INR 200 crore.
Initially, Virat Kohli would endorse ‘Too Yumm’ and once the company gains satisfactory outcomes, they would expand the FMCG business into more streams.
“FMCG is the group’s next big bet and will become a billion-dollar operation in the next four years.
It is already clocking 15 crore sales a month which we want to double by March, so that in 2018-19 the revenue touches Rs 500 crore.
While we plan to expand the FMCG business into more categories, the immediate focus is to establish the snacking business,” Goenka mentioned.
