Yuvraj Singh tweets after IPL 2019 Auction

Yuvraj Singh tweets after IPL 2019 Auction: Veteran India all-rounder expressed gladness after being picked by Mumbai Indians.

Veteran India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh must have gone through a riveting evening yesterday. While all cricketers taking part in the IPL Auction are bound to be nervous, the 37-year old cricketer had more reasons than the others to feel the nerves.

Ahead of the 11th season of the IPL, Yuvraj received a grand homecoming from Kings XI Punjab earlier this year. Lacklustre performances in six outings for the franchise saw him being released during the trade window last month.

For someone who has neither played much cricket of late nor has performed as well people expect from him, getting another IPL gig at this age sounds a daunting task.

IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings’ hint regarding purchasing him in the auction ahead of it must have given him the required assurance. Having said that, it eventually didn’t happen as the star all-rounder remained unsold during the first round of the auction.

Watching India’s first T20 hero going unsold in the IPL auction didn’t give the impression of going well with the audiences on social media platform Twitter. Yuvraj’s turn in the first round was instantly followed by fans expressing disbelief over all that had happened.

When Mumbai Indians raised the bar just in time to bid for Yuvraj in the second round of the auction, it came as a relief for the superstar’s plethora of fans. While Indians took to their Twitter account to express joy, Yuvraj himself posted a video with respect to the same.

What followed for an 8-year-old was an instant adulation for both Ganguly and the sport. The optimist in him is waiting for the day when Punjab Kings will win their maiden Indian Premier League title. When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
