Gareth Bale was reportedly set to leave Real Madrid once and for all by joining Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning. However, after weeks of talking about wanting to see the back of the Weslh Superstar, Real Madrid did a U-turn and called his move off.

Bale responded by not travelling with the team to Germany for the Audi Cup. Real Madrid took on his former side Tottenham while Bale stayed back. According to his friends, the winger was too distressed by Real’s eleventh-hour decision to deny him his £1million-a-week move.

However, manager Zinedine Zidane denied the allegations. Instead, he insisted that Bale did not feel well and the decision for him to remain in Madrid and train alone had been taken in consultation with the doctor.

Embarrassingly for the Frenchman though, pictures of Bale playing golf during Real’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham began to surface on the internet.

When asked about the picture, Zidane answered:

“I don’t know anything about that, I’ve not seen the picture,” Zidane said after the win over Fener at the Allianz Arena. I’m here with my players, so I can’t say much about that. I hope that he’s working out well. We’re here. We think about the team and all the players here.

“We will see when we get back to Madrid. I wouldn’t tell him he’s not allowed to do it. He’s old enough to do what he wants. He maybe had his reasons. It’s his private life, it’s not something I judge. I think he trained well. We’ll see what’s going to happen.”

Zidane not only refused to criticize Bale but also refused to comment on his future with the club.

“Before 31 August, a lot can happen,” Zidane said. “We’ll see what happens when we get back to Madrid.”

However, when asked if Bale had shown a lack of respect by playing golf, Zidane refused to divulge any further.

“No, you won’t put me in a position I don’t like” He answered. “You can ask questions of course but I’m not going to answer this question.”

It seems like Zidane has learnt to be careful after the fiasco he caused when he let his mind known without any hesitation.
