Zinedine Zidane was not able to look at Marco Asensio after the Spaniard injured his knee against Arsenal.
Real Madrid were dealt with a huge blow when Marco Asensio was carried off by a stretcher against Arsenal. The Spaniard scored the equalizer in the second half, but suffered a disheartening injury which could end this season.
The forward, who was tussling out for the ball with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, appeared to get his foot jarred in the turf. It was an unfortunate accident for the 24-year-old, who looked to reinvent himself under Zidane in the upcoming campaign.
While he was stretched off, his manager Zinedine Zidane, who was in total dismay, was barely able to watch him.

Spanish publication Radioestadio provided an update following the injury, and it was bad news for Asensio.
“In the absence of official confirmation by Real Madrid, Marco Asensio may have broken the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.” they said on their official Twitter account.
“There is a need for deeper medical tests to confirm the exact extent of the injury.”

There were suggestions that Gareth Bale’s situation at Los Blancos could change because of the Spaniard’s serious injury, but manager Zidane soon played down that idea, insisting “nothing has changed.”
“Yes, he is here. At the moment he is with us. He played because he wanted to be with us and play. He played and well.
“Today he played, the decision is mine, he played a part and we will see what will happen. Nothing has changed. You know the situation, I will always tell you the same thing. ”
The Welsh winger and Marco Asensio scored in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal yesterday.
