WWE has been treating the WWE Universe with numerous matches all round the year. Also, each superstar gives his/her best in the ring day in and day out. However, some select matches produce true magic. These matches stay etched in our memories for a very very long time. Here is a list of the 5 best WWE matches of the decade!

1. CM Punk vs John Cena – Money in the Bank 2011

Exactly 6 years ago, Chicago’s All State Arena witnessed something which will not be replicated for a very long time. The Voice of the Voiceless, C M Punk produced a classic with the 16 time world champion, John Cena. The crowd was electric and vociferously behind the hometown hero, C M Punk. Moreover, this match came after the famous ‘Pipebomb’.

At the end, C M Punk connected with the GTS, pinned Cena and flew through the crowd along with the title blowing Mr. McMahon a goodbye kiss.

2. The Undertaker vs Triple H : End of an Era – WrestleMania 28

The match between The Game and The Deadman at WrestleMania 27 was a classic. However, WrestleMania 28 was a different story altogether. It was billed as an End of an Era match set in the confines of Hell in a Cell. Add to this, Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee and we had the perfect cocktail for a spectacle.

The match truly lived up to its expectations. The build prior to the match, both superstars kicking out of each others’ finishers and the sheer intensity – all the three legends produced magic that day with The Deadman prevailing at the end. The 3 legends embracing at the ramp remains as one of the most iconic images in WWE.

3. Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker : Streak vs Career – WM 27

Much like the previous entry, Triple H’s best buddy, Shawn Michaels had attempted to break the Deadman’s streak, not once, but twice. In fact, the build up to this match was one of the best worked out ones in history. HBK costed the Undertaker his World Title just so that he got a shot at the Undertaker one more time to break the streak.

This obsession with ending the streak made The Heartbreak Kid put his career on the line. In one of the best 5 matches of the decade, The Deadman tombstoned HBK to pin him after multiple kickouts. The whole atmosphere and the aftermath of this match in the following days’ RAW was truly unbelievable.

4. The Rock vs John Cena – WrestleMania 29

Even though this showdown belied the ‘Once in a Lifetime’ moniker in their match at Wrestlemania 28, nothing could take away from the overall match. Add to this, this match was for the coveted WWE Championship. Cena had won the Royal Rumble that year, giving him a shot at the Rock and also a chance to avenge his loss last year.

Following the several verbal jousts preceding the match, the showdown did not disappoint. Both superstars exchanged, mimicked and kicked out of each other’s signature moves. The intensity of this bout can be estimated from the fact that the Rock sustained serious injuries during the fight which Cena won eventually.

5. Daniel Bryan vs John Cena – Summerslam 2013

Daniel Bryan was a very well established wrestler in the independent circuit worldwide before breaking into the WWE. However, his ascent in WWE was gradual and was mostly billed as a B+ player. However, 2013 was the year that elevated Bryan from a midcarder to an absolute fan favorite.

John Cena, the champion had chosen Daniel Bryan, the underdog as his opponent for SummerSlam mostly under pressure from the crowd. The two put on a clinic with high levels of energy displayed by Bryan which enabled the crowd to get behind him. After an enthralling encounter, Bryan pinned the champion clean to win the WWE title.

However, the shock was reserved for later when special guest referee Triple H shockingly turned on Bryan. This allowed Mr. Money in the Bank, Randy Orton to cash in his contract and snatch the title from Bryan. This gave birth to one of the best feuds of the decade between The Game and Bryan which culminated in a WM30 match.
