Kane Williamson: Kiwi legend Daniel Vettori says Williamson is New Zealand’s greatest ODI player of all time.
Daniel Vettori has declared that Kiwi Captain Kane Williamson is the greatest ODI player that New Zealand have produced. He made the claim on his column for the International Cricket Council.

The report came after Williamson smashed an unbeaten 106 to guide his team to a nervous 4 wicket win with only 3 balls to spare. With this victory, the Black Caps maintain their unbeaten run in the quadrennial event and are now atop the league.
Vettori wrote:
“Kane Williamson has to be New Zealand’s greatest ODI player of all time — and innings like that against South Africa tell you exactly why,” “He’s already there now and by the end of his career his record will far exceed anything we’ve had in the past or present, he really is that good.”

The Kiwi Spinner explained what makes him so different from other batsmen.
“Kane has done so much in such a short period, whether a captain or not, he’s been exceptional and he’s an absolute joy to watch. He plays all the shots; he knows how to manipulate the strike and he’s always going to run hard. What differentiates him from a lot of batsmen in this day and age is his sole focus is winning the game and he tailors his batting towards that.”
New Zealand will now face the West Indies on Saturday. They have already won 4 out of their 5 games and will hope to continue their winning streak this weekend. Their match against tournament favourites India was rained out. Apart from New Zealand, India remain the only other unbeaten team in the tournament so far.
