Isuru Udana grabs breathtaking return catch: The Sri Lankan fast bowler’s alertness in his follow-through came good for him.

During the 27th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between England and Sri Lanka at Headingley, Sri Lanka fast bowler Isuru Udana grabbed a breathtaking return catch to send back England captain Eoin Morgan.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the 19th over when Morgan mis-timed a shot back to the bowler. Into his follow-through, an alert Udana kept his eyes on the ball. A reaction time of 0.44 second speaks highly of how difficult the catch was.

Udana, who picked his first wicket in the form of the opposition skipper, was successful in breaking a 47-run partnership for the third wicket between Joe Root and Morgan. Having smashed a record-breaking 17 sixes in his last ODI innings, Morgan could only manage to score 21 (35) with the help of a couple of fours today.

With England losing wickets at regular intervals, they are in a spot of bother chasing a 233-run target. Considering their elongated batting lineup, Sri Lanka will have to continually picking up wickets if have to stand a chance against the hosts.

After Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne won the toss and chose to bat, Sri Lanka posted a below par 232/9 in their allotted quota of 50 overs. Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 13th over, Sri Lanka batsman Angelo Mathews scored his 38th half-century, 85* (115). With bowling figures of 8-0-40-3, England fast bowler Mark Wood was the pick of their bowlers.
