Rihanna extends support to West Indies: The prominent celebrity was seen supporting the West Indies cricket team at Chester-le-Street.

During the 39th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Sri Lanka and West Indies at Chester-le-Street, Sri Lanka defeated West Indies by 23 runs to register their third victory in the tournament. Given the standings of the tournament, both the teams are out of contention regarding qualifying for semi-finals.

The match had seen two rookie batsmen from both the teams scoring praiseworthy centuries each. While it was Sri Lanka’s Avishka Fernando in the first innings, West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran crossed the three-figure mark in the second innings. The former was declared the Man of the Match for powering Sri Lanka to 338/6 after being put in to bat by West Indies captain Jason Holder.

The match had given the impression of witnessing a nerve-wrenching ending. However, veteran Sri Lanka cricketer Angelo Mathews bowling after a year and a half dismissed the set Pooran on the first ball itself. With West Indies needing 31 runs in 17 balls with only a couple of wickets remaining, things became extremely difficult for them.

The match also marked the presence of illustrious celebrity Rihanna, who was seen supporting the West Indies cricket team. Displaying various expressions throughout the second innings, Rihanna was seen being disappointed after Universe Boss Chris Gayle (35) got out in the 16th over.

Rihanna was then seen celebrating Pooran’s magnificent century during the business end of the match. Her presence even allured a lot of reactions on social media platform Twitter.
