WATCH: Jasprit Bumrah’s toe-crushing yorkers aid India to beat Bangladesh in 2019 Cricket World Cup
Jasprit Bumrah’s toe-crushing yorkers: The Indian fast bowler played a pivotal role in winning the match for India at Edgbaston.
During the 40th match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Bangladesh and India at Edgbaston, India defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs to enter the semi-finals of the tournament.
Chasing a 315-run target, Bangladesh remained in contention to seal the chase. Led by senior all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan’s 46th ODI half-century, Bangladeshi batsmen in Sabbir Rahman (36) and Mohammad Saifuddin (51*) fought hard till the end.
Congratulations India on a well deserved win and cementing a place in the semi-finals. Bumrah was superb in the end but have to admire @BCBtigers for the magnificent spirit and fight they showed in the end. #IndvBan

Jasprit Bumrah’s toe-crushing yorkers:
However, inspired spells from India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik Pandya dented Bangladesh’s progress throughout the chase. While Bumrah (10-1-55-4) was exceptional in the slog overs as usual, Pandya (10-0-60-3) affected the dismissal in the middle overs.
India captian Virat Kohli decided to hand the ball to Jasprit Bumrah when the opposition required 36 runs in the last three overs. Standing tall on his captain’s expectations, Bumrah dismissed Rubel Hossain (9) and Mustafizur Rahman (0) on consecutive deliveries to bundled out the opposition for 286 in 48 overs.
Known for his skills at the death, Bumrah once again proved why he is rated so highly in this facet of cricket. Had it not been him dismissing four out of Bangladesh’s last six batsmen, India might have found themselves in a difficult situation.
After India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, India scored 314/9 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Having scored his 26th ODI century, India vice-captain Rohit Sharma top-scored for India with 104 (92) with the help of seven fours and five sixes. With bowling figures of 10-1-59-5, Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of their bowlers.
