Mohammad Amir announces immediate retirement from Test Cricket; commits to play white ball Cricket for Pakistan
Pakistan Cricket Team’s star left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has, in what can be termed as a shocking decision announced his retirement from Test Cricket with immediate effect.
Amir however, has committed to serve his nation in the limited-overs format of the game and in his bid to concentrate on White ball Cricket, has decided to bid adieu to the purest form of the sport.
“It’s been an honour to represent Pakistan in the traditional format of the game. I, however, have decided to move away from the longer version so I can concentrate on white ball cricket”, said Amir after his decision to move on from Test Cricket.
Leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in 2019 World Cup
Mohammad Amir was the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in the recently concluded 2019 World Cup in England. He picked up a total of 17 wickets in the eight league matches he played in the marquee tournament, at an average of 21.05 and strike rate of 25.76.
Amir played a total of 36 Test matches and picked up a total of 119 wickets at an average of 30.48 in 67 innings.
