Watch: Batsman hit wicket goes unnoticed as non-striker fixes the stumps
Watch: Batsman hit wicket goes unnoticed as non-striker fixes the stumps before the opposition even realises. The incident took place in a domestic game.
For many, the game of cricket may seem very complicated. However, at its core, it is a very simple game. The bowler aims to hit the stumps while the batsmen attempts to hit the ball as far as possible with the aim of running as many times as possible between the wickets.
In what looks like an Indian domestic match, all of these took place in one ball itself. The bowler, a spinner, pitched the ball around the middle leg and the bell continued on its path down the leg. The batsmen whacked the ball to his leg and ran a single. However, unbeknownst to most, the batsman knocked his leg stump with his body. Fortunately for him, no one but his batting partner, who immediately fixed the stumps, noticed.

A hit wicket in cricket is generally a very rare occurrence. It is not often that one hits his own stumps. So far, only a total of 240 batsmen have been dismissed via this method in International cricket. However, fixing one’s stumps has got to be even rarer than hitting it.
