To be a Manchester United supporter is not easy. So often the club fills you with hopes of resurgence only to take it away from you when you start to put your faith in the club once again. It happened last season and it has happened once again today.

Watching United trash Chelsea led many to believe that this was a side unburdened by the past. A group of starlets chasing glory. The dream took a beating against Wolverhampton. However, many supporters believed that it was just 5 minutes of bad play that led to the draw. Surely United would find its feet today’ They thought. However, that wasn’t to be.
United started the match with such fury, you’d be forgiven if you were expecting a 4-0 encore at the Old Trafford. Much to everyone’s surprise though, Crystal Palace scored with their first shot on goal. The shoulders dropped and United never seemed to be in the game after that.
United were handed a penalty but squandered it when Rashford hit the post. Just when you decided to give up on the team, there was Daniel James who scored the equaliser. With 5 minutes extra time added, Fans were rejuvenated. We can win! They assumed. However, the Eagles had other ideas.

Manchester United’s campaign has once again promised the moon and the stars only to come crashing down like a pilotless plane. Solskjaer and his boys need to get their act together. This may still be early days but failure to step on the gas now may prove very costly later in the league.
