Nicolas Mahut believes that Federer will not make it to Roland Garros
Tennis fans all over the world may be disappointed to read this. Roger Federer has been on a sensational run of form in 2017 but that may soon come to an end very soon. So much so that the Frenchman, Nicolas Mahut believes that Federer will not make it to Roland Garros.
Mahut does not believe that you could directly play at the French Open without any practice beforehand and has said that Federer may not want to risk playing in a tournament that he may not do well in. Also the fact that he takes far more time to recover than before is another reason why Nicolas Mahut believes that Federer will not make it to Roland Garros this year.
“I think we will not see him at Roland Garros,” Mahut said.
Mahut also believes that it would be wise on Federer’s part to wait till the grass court season begins from June in Stuttgart.
The Swiss however is confident that he will play in the historic Grand Slam although not at the cost to disrupting his custom made plans that have worked wonders so far.
“I want to stay healthy and enjoy myself. When I’m feeling good I can produce tennis like this. If I’m not healthy, I won’t be in these finals,” he said.

“I probably won’t play any clay events except the French Open, my body needs healing.
“I’m not 34 any more, things have to change in a big way. I need a rest and time to prepare. You will probably see me at the French again.”
In what may very well be his final flourish as a player, the legendary Swiss will want to prove those people wrong who believe that Federer will not make it to Roland Garros !
