Ishant Sharma follows Virat Kohli’s instructions: The senior Indian pacer followed the instructions of his captain to dismiss Temba Bavuma.

During the third day of the first Test of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India in Visakhapatnam, India fast bowler Ishant Sharma and captain Virat Kohli joined hands to work in tandem to dismiss South Africa batsman Temba Bavuma.

It all happened on the first delivery of the 27th over when Sharma found Bavuma wanting in front of the stumps. In what an in-swinging delivery, it hit Bavuma’s pads as the batsman seem to have no answer to counter the swing.

Before the over had begun, Kohli and Sharma were seen in a prolonged discussion. Going by Kohli’s gesture, one can understand that it was him who suggested Sharma to bring the ball into the batsman.

Bavuma, who had come in to bat at No. 5 in the 18th over yesterday, ended up scoring 18 (26) with the help of three fours. Given how well he has batted on this tour, it was important to dismiss him early up.

In what was Sharma’s first wicket of this innings, he continued to increase his golden run in the Test format. With South Africa opening batsman Dean Elgar and captain Faf du Plessis in the middle, the visitors would be hoping to register a formidable partnership to remain in the match.
