Twitter bashes Hardik Pandya for posting ‘disrespectful’ birthday wish for Zaheer Khan
Twitter bashes Hardik Pandya: The Indian all-rounder’s birthday wish for the legendary fast bowler didn’t go down well with the fans.
Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan turned 41 yesterday. Having last played for India during India’s tour of New Zealand in 2014, Zaheer received birthday wishes from all spheres of the cricketing fraternity.
In the 92 Test matches that Zaheer played in his 14-year old career, he dismissed 311 batsmen at an average of 32.94, an economy rate of 3.27 and a strike rate of 60.4 including 11 five-wicket hauls.
In 200 ODIs, Zaheer picked 282 wickets at an average of 29.43, an economy rate of 4.93 and a strike rate of 35.8. Apart from playing 17 T20Is, Zaheer also played 100 IPL matches, the last of which came in 2017. Having played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils, Zaheer picked 102 wickets at an average of 27.27, an economy rate of 7.58 and a strike rate of 21.56.

Among one of the illustrious names to wish Zaheer on his birthday was India all-rounder Hardik Pandya. “Happy birthday Zak … Hope you smash it out of the park like I did here,” read the caption of Pandya’s tweet.
Pandya also attached a video in which he is seen hitting Zaheer for a boundary in what seems to be a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Baroda and Mumbai.
Fans of both Pandya and Zaheer are at odds with the former’s derogatory tweet for the legendary bowler. It is worth mentioning that both Pandya and Zaheer are currently part of the Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians.
While Pandya has been playing for the franchise since 2015, Zaheer was roped in as the Director of Cricket Operations from the last season of the tournament.

Despite being a bowler he has 53 gorgeous international sixes. He has smashed bowlers like Brett Lee , Shoaib Akhtar out of the park. He would have crushed your toe with an inswinging Yorker if u played him in his prime. He is a legend.
