India vs Bangladesh Kolkata tickets: CAB reduces ticket price to INR 50 for Eden Gardens Test
India vs Bangladesh Kolkata tickets: The Cricket Association of Bengal have led by example as far as the ticket price is concerned.
India captain Virat Kohli’s comments on India having only five Test venues came as a concern for the decreasing popularity of Test cricket. Kohli was vocal about the same after India and South Africa played their last two Tests in front of near-empty stands in Pune and Ranchi respectively.
“Look you gonna keep Test cricket alive. I totally agree with the fact that we should have five-Test centers at max. It can’t be sporadic and spread over so many places where people turn up or not.
“We should have five Test centres, period.”

“In my opinion, we should have five-Test centers. Period. Test cricket, teams coming to India should know we are going to play at these five venues, [what] kind of people that are gonna come to watch and this is what the pitch is gonna offer,” Kohli was quoted as saying during the press conference after whitewashing South Africa 3-0 in Ranchi.

India’s next international assignment will be hosting Bangaldesh for three T20Is and two Test matches next month. In a welcoming development, CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) secretary Avishek Dalmiya confirmed that the association has decided to slash down prices for the second Test to be held in Kolkata from November 22.
“We want more people to come in. That’s why this move,” Dalmiya was quoted as saying by The Times of India. It is worth mentioning that the ticket prices have been brought down from INR 200, 150 and 100 to INR 150, 100 and 50 for the Test match.
It is worth mentioning that the Kolkata Test is likely to witness the presence of Prime Ministers of both the countries. The newly-elected BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had made the development public during an interaction with reporters in Kolkata yesterday.
“The prime minister of Bangladesh will be attending. We haven’t yet sent the invitation to the Indian prime minister, but we will be sending it. We will be inviting the [West Bengal] chief minister [Mamata Banerjee] also, for day one of the Test match. I will go meet her,” Ganguly had said.
