Kieron Pollard cunningly converts a no-ball into dead ball by tricking the umpire in the ongoing match against Afghanistan.
Kieron Pollard has become a household name thanks to his showing in the Indian Premier League. Following his exploits in the 2009 Champions League Twenty20 he became the most sought-after cricketer at the 2010 IPL auction with Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore bidding the maximum allowed; $750,000. A ‘silent-tiebreaker’ was won by the Mumbai Indians and the rest is history.

He has since become one of the most well-known Cricketers in the world and is an absolute entertainer who is constantly in the mix of things. His antics on and off the field are hilarious with the IPL incident where he taped his mouth to avoid getting fined for sledging, one of his most memorable highlights.
However, in today’s match vs Afghanistan, the all-rounder proved that he has the wits to match his humour while displaying incredible awareness of the situation around him. In the process, the Pollard, as he usually does, left everyone amazed.

After falling to 74-4 just short of 20 overs, Afghanistan threatened to make their way back into the match as a partnership between Asghar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran brewed. Pollard bought himself into the attack in the 25th over of the match in hopes of breaking the partnership.
Pollard completed his warm up and stretches and then began his run up to deliver his medium pace to Afghan. Just as Pollard was about to deliver the ball though, the Umpire very loudly shouted ‘NO’. Pollard was quick to here the call in the nick of time and immediately retracted from releasing the ball.

With no ball out for delivery, the call had to be changed to dead ball instead. The umpire looked amazed and amused at the same time as he let out a smile while Pollard went back to deliver the next ball.
