Rohit Sharma at Eden Gardens: Watch Indian player grabs sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Mominul Haque
Rohit Sharma at Eden Gardens: The Indian opening batsman put on display an exceptional fielding effort at the Eden Gardens.
During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of India in Kolkata, India opening batsman Rohit Sharma put on display an exceptional fielding effort to dismiss Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque.
It all happened on the first delivery of the 11th over when Haque was found wanting against Yadav bowling a delivery which seemed to come in but left the left-hand batsman after pitching.
With Haque edging the ball, it would have generally been the first slip’s catch. However, Sharma jumped to his right from second slip to grab a sensation catch with only one hand.
Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the seventh over, Haque failed to get off the mark. Known to spend plentiful time at the crease, the visiting skipper is yet to play an archetype innings on this tour.
After Haque won the toss and chose to bat, his decision has been followed by Bangladesh losing five wickets in just over the first hour. While Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami have picked up a wicket each, Yadav has tasted success thrice this afternoon.
It is worth mentioning that both the teams are playing their first day-night Test match with the pink ball. The well-marketed event has been successful in attracting a handsome number of fans to the stadium.
