Chelsea, who have lost 4 out of their last 5 matches, have put on a brilliant display in the first half with Willian being the standout performer. The winger put the blues ahead in the 12th minute from a brilliant shot into the far corner.
At the stroke of half-time, Chelsea were given a penalty after VAR clarified that Spurs keeper Gazzaniga took out Marco Alonso inside the box. Willian took the shot from the spot and doubled Chelsea’s lead with a clever kick.
At the time of writing, Chelsea lead the match with 2 goals to Tottenham’s zero. Jose Mourinho could be considering making a few half-time changes as Spurs chase a top 4 finish. Should Tottenham somehow overcome Chelsea’s 2 goal lead, they will jump to 4th place ahead of Chelsea.
Chelsea on the other hand, could solidify their place in the top 4 with a win. Especially after Manchester United’s surprise defeat to bottom placed Watford earlier in the day.
