Real Madrid transfer news: Tottenham set to make sensational deadline day bid for Gareth Bale. Spurs are confident about getting the Welshman back.
Gareth Bale rose to fame with his exploits for Tottenham in the Premier League. He was soon picked by Real Madrid for a then world record fee of £85.3million in the summer of 2013. He would soon become a first team regular and helped Los Blancos win several trophies.

However, with friction with manager Zinedine Zidane since the Frenchman’s appointment has seen Bale’s future became a talking point in every transfer window. Last summer he almost made the jump to the Chinese Super League before Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez stepped in.
The Times are now reporting that the possibility of Gareth Bale going back to Tottenham is a possibility that could happen before the transfer window closes tonight. According to the newspaper, the North London club believe that they’ve made a breakthrough.

The report claims that Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy recently contacted Florentino Perez regarding the purchase of Gareth Bale. The meeting has left him confident that he can convince Real Madrid to part ways with the 30-year old. However, the Lilywhites are still struggling to strike an agreement with Bale regarding his salary. The Welshman earns an exorbitant £500,000 a week at the Bernabeu.
Should an agreement struck that satisfies all three parties, then Tottenham will pull off the most sensational transfer of the January transfer window. However, there’s a lot of variables involved and too little time.
Despite the bad blood between Zidane and Bale being an open secret, the Frenchman is surprisingly reluctant to allow bale to leave.
“Gareth is here with us and I am counting on him,” the Frenchman said this morning when the prospect of Bale leaving was put to him. “I am not contemplating this possibility.”
