World Test Championship Rankings and Point Table: Pakistan registered a clinical victory in the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

During the first Test of the ongoing Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan in Rawalpindi, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 44 runs to register a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Trailing by 212 runs at the start of their second innings, Bangladesh were bundled out for 168 in 62.2 overs on the back of Pakistan fast bowler becoming the youngest player to register a hat-trick.

Shah’s bowling figures of 8.2-2-26-4 before him leaving the field due to a niggle saw him being the pick of the Pakistani bowlers in the second innings. Other than Naseem Shah, spinner Yasir Shah (17.2-3-58-4) was also among the wickets.

World Test Championship Rankings and Point Table

Since 60 points are awarded after a victory in a two-match series of the World Test Championship, Pakistan’s tally of points has reached 140 after five matches. Pakistan are currently at No. 4 in the points table.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, have lost all the three matches that they have played in the tournament. Bangladesh and West Indies are the only two teams who are yet to get among the points in the World Test Championship.

South Africa, who have lost six out of the seven matches played, are currently reeling at No. 7. A below par tournament for New Zealand till now sees them at No. 6 with 60 points not far away from Sri Lanka at No. 5 with 80 points.

India (360), Australia (296) and England (146) continue to take control of the top three positions. With India having played only seven matches as compared to Australia’s 10 and England’s nine, the topmost team has another advantage up their sleeve with respect to playing less number of matches.
