Imran Tahir gives aggressive send-off to Shadab Khan: The Sultans’ veteran spinner was in no mood to calm down after dismissing the opposition captain.

During the 22nd match of the ongoing fifth season of the Pakistan Super League between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in Rawalpindi, Multan Sultans’ veteran spinner Imran Tahir was exhilarated after dismissing Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan.

It all happened on the third delivery of the seventh over when Shadab’s attempt of upping the ante saw him skying a Tahir delivery towards Sultans all-rounder Moeen Ali at long-off.

Tahir, who is known for animated celebrations after dismissing batsmen, registered yet another aggressive send-off after Ali completed the catch at the boundary.

Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the third over, Shadab ended up scoring 14 (12) with the help of one four. Having registered bowling figures of 2-0-13-2, Tahir was the pick of the Sultans’ bowlers. Apart from the 40-year old spinner, Multan pacer Junaid Khan and Ali picked two and one wicket respectively.

After Sultans captain Shan Masood won the toss and chose to field in a nine-over contest, United scored 91/7. Opening the batting with wicket-keeper batsman Luke Ronchi (18), Colin Munro top-scored for his team with 25 (12) which comprised of a four and three sixes.

In the second innings, Multan opening batsman James Vince’s 36th T20 half-century has provided them with a stellar start and have put them in a position to win the match.
