Will Australian players take part in IPL 2020: The Australian Prime Minister has imposed travel restrictions regarding citizens flying overseas.
Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced an indefinite restriction regarding travelling of Australian citizens outside the country in the wake of a “pandemic” in COVID-19.
It is worth mentioning that the development is a level-four warning and not a ban. The drastic step has been taken to fight against the coronavirus which is currently affecting the lives in more ways than one around the globe.
“If you do travel, get professional security advice. Your travel insurance policy might be void. The Australian Government may not be able to help you,” says the government warning regarding the “do not travel overseas” advisory.

Will Australian players take part in IPL 2020?
Considering the “indefinite” time period of the announcement, it has put the participation of Australian players in the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League in serious convolution.
Originally slated to begin on March 28, the cash-rich league was recently postponed to April 15 as an aftermath of coronavirus. Much like all other restrictions due to coronavirus, one can’t possibly comment on whether the Australian players will be allowed to travel to India or not.
Considering the nature of the IPL, an exception can be made to let 17 players and other support staff to travel to India after them taking the “professional security advice”.
Speaking to SEN, Australia limited-overs captain and Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Aaron Finch admitted to not seeing anything like this in the past. “We’ve never seen anything like this. That [travel advice] has changed over the last couple of hours. That could change in two weeks or three weeks, it’s hard to plan anything.
“But it’s just about making sure everyone around you personally is safe and you’re doing everything you can to stop the spread,” Finch was quoted as saying by SEN.
