Drew McIntyre dethrones Brock Lesnar to win first WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 36
Drew McIntyre dethrones Brock Lesnar to win first WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 36. He is the first British WWE Champion.
Drew McIntyre was long dubbed the Chosen one during his first run in the WWE. He was earmarked as a future champion. However, things didn’t go as planned. His second run in the company however, has been nothing short of a fairytale that has left nightmares for his opponents in its wake.
In a 6 year time span, Drew McIntyre was fired from WWE, then beat Brock Lesnar in the main event of #WrestleMania for his first World Title.
It’s like a movie come back. What a journey.

McIntyre won the 2020 Royal Rumble to emerge as a challenger to Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. He was determined to do what other British stars such as William Regal had failed to do so before him and he did exactly that as he climbed to the top of the WWE mountain with a win over the beast.

The main-event of Wrestlemania 36 saw the Scottish Psychopath open proceedings with a claymore kick.

The match itself wasn’t terrible but it was far from great. The match literally only featured 3 moves. The only complaint here was that this was almost a spot for spot copy of the Goldberg vs Strowman match for the Universal Championship yesterday.
Regardless, none of that takes away from the fact that this was Drew McIntyre’s true coronation as the top guy in the company, at least for a little while.
