The two behemoths took part in a short yet explosive match that featured one power move after the other. Goldberg kicked off the match with 3 consecutive spears. He went for the pin but Strowman managed to kick out at 2.

Goldberg then went for another spear before attempting a jackhammer to finish the match off. However, the challenger managed to escape and laid 3 powerslams on the champion before doing the move once again to seal his maiden world championship.

Despite being built as a top star in the last few years, Strowman has never won the top title before. He did win the intercontinental championship earlier this year but even that was the first time he ever won a singles title.

It will be interesting to see where the WWE goes from here, considering that the money was originally on Goldberg vs Reigns.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
