LeBron James: Playing in NBA restart won’t affect ability to inspire change, reports claim
LeBron James was not part of a 80 player Friday night zoom call conference lead by LeBron’s former teammate Kyrie Irving
Four-time MVP winner LeBron James was also invited to join the zoom conference along with several other NBA stars. LeBron James and other NBA stars decided not to show up for the conference.
Why was LeBron James not present for the Zoom call/conference?
According to sources(as quoted by The Athletic), LeBron feels that him playing during the NBA restart in Orlando won’t affect the way he tries to inspire change in society.
Moreover, LeBron James has a great chance at his 4th ring with the Lakers this season, and that too could have played a slight role in LeBron not wanting to indulge in conversations about players not wanting to return to the court.
Only 20 percent of the players were present in the meeting to discuss the July restart at Walt Disney World. NBPA President Chris Paul was present in the meeting.

LeBron James, in contrast, has not talked with players, who are concerned with the return of the season. As a star player, many other players have looked up to the Lakers legend and must have been expecting some initiative with respect to how the players feel about the NBA restart
LeBron and the Lakers are one of the 22 teams invited to the season restart. The lakers are on the top in the Western Conference with a 49-12 record and are one of the prominent contenders to win the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy if all things go according to the plan.
How has LeBron responded to racial injustice in America?
LeBron James has demonstrated the world that apart from being perhaps the best athlete ever, he additionally has added to society and has brought some change. Lakers star recently formed a group to support the Black American’s voting rights and is long vocal on racism and Police brutality in America.
We are waiting to see how the story unfolds and if players are actually disappointed with how LeBron hasn’t had an ear for their concerns.
