Drew McIntyre wants a big match with Edge. The WWE Champion says he is ready physically and mentally for the dream match.  

WWE Legend Edge made a sensational return earlier this year at the Royal Rumble. That was a huge moment for the fans, many of whom believed that they would never see him wrestle again. Reigning WWE Champion Drew McIntyre also believed the same.

During a Radio Show for ESPN1530, McIntyre revealed that while the two had shared the ring previously, they never had that big match. Seeing the Rated-R Superstar make a comeback at Royal Rumble made his desire for a one on one match re-emerge.

“You know Edge had this amazing career,” McIntyre said. “I was thankful that I travelled the world with him. Learned a lot from him as a kid, but to see him back… of course the wheels started turning. And I thought to myself, ‘Oh yea, we’re going to have that big match.’ And I’m absolutely ready for that big match now, you know, physically and mentally.”

Edge was placed in a storyline with Randy Orton upon his return. The two had a gruesome match at Wrestlemania. Their clash at BackLash however, was a whole other ball game. Dubbed ‘The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever’, the pair put everything they had in the match to live up to the name.

In doing so however, Edge suffered a torn triceps muscle. The injury should keep him out of the WWE for at least 4 to 8 months. Which means that McIntyre will have to wait a little bit longer for that big match. However, Edge can be rest assured that once he’s fully recovered, McIntyre will be there waiting for him.
