Nick Kyrgios mocks Novak Djokovic after he tests positive for coronavirus

Nick Kyrgios took to Twitter to highlight that Novak and other players were partying before players started testing positive.

After news came in that Novak Djokovic has tested positive for Covid-19, there have been a lot of support pouring in. Nick Kyrgios has also lend in his support, but with a twist.

Nick first retweeted Sky Sports’s tweet about Djokovic testing positive, adding “Oh boy”.

The Australian followed this up by retweeting a video of has Djokovic and co. singing and partying before they tested positive. He tweeted “Prayers up to all the players that have contracted Covid-19. Don’t tag me for anything I’ve done that has been ‘irresponsible’ or classified as ‘stupidity’ – this takes the case.

As referenced in the tweet, Nick is known for his outbursts and irresponsible behavior. But he rightly adds this is way more stupid than anything he has done. He followed this up with another retweet of the ‘party scenes’. The original tweet read “how dumb can they all be honestly.

Tennis stars Grigor Dimitrov, Boran Coric, and Victor Troicki had also tested positive. Apart from them, Novak’s fitness coach and Dimitrov’s coach have also received the bad news.

Nick Kyrgios had earlier called out Novak Djokovic and his team for organising the Adria Tour.

“Boneheaded decision to go ahead with the ‘exhibition’,” he said.

“Speedy recovery fellas, but that’s what happens when you disregard all protocols. This is not a joke.”

He also tweeted about it, sarcastically mocking Novak and co. – “Congratulations. Such leadership.

Road ahead for Novak Djokovic, ATP and WTA?

The tennis schedule would likely be torn apart after this news. Players like Djokovic, Coric, and Dimitrov are important to the tennis circuit. If they don’t recover on time, the US and French Open could fall into jeopardy.

There are also calls for Novak to be removed from the Player’s Council. His behavior has been deemed irresponsible by his peers.
