Kevin Durant: Nets’ star would have skipped ‘NBA Bubble’ restart even if not injured

Kevin Durant has revealed that he wouldn’t have joined the Nets in Orlando for the NBA Bubble restart even if he was healthy.

Kevin Durant suffered from an injury in the game 5 of 2019 NBA finals when he was on the Golden State Warriors roster. The achilles injury forced him out of the 2019/20 season too.

In a recent interview, Kevin said that he would not play in the NBA return even if he was healthy due to the coronavirus.With cases in Florida on the rise, the Nets star felt it was unwise to play in such a scenario. Orange County has 11,016 active cases and has recorded 299 deaths until now.

Why would Kevin Durant have not joined the NBA Bubble?

Durant said “I feel, me right now, I probably wouldn’t have played because the unknown going into the situation looks crazy right now, seeing so many new cases. it’s just so unpredictable. it’s easy for me to stay right now because I’m injured but I probably wouldn’t have went down there.”

However, The former league MVP is eager to step on the court as it’s over a year that he hasn’t played basketball. Kevin Durant signed with the Brooklyn Nets in July when he was a free agent, striking a $164m deal.

NBA team’s travel plan to the NBA Bubble

Sources have told that the travel plans for the 22 teams are out. Nets, Nuggets, Magic, Suns, Jazz, and Wizard will leave on July 7 whereas Celtics, Mavericks, Clippers, Grizzlies, Heat, Pelicans, Thunder and Kings are scheduled for July 8. Rockets, Pacers, Lakers, Bucks, 76ers, Trail Blazers, Spurs, and Raptors will leave for Orlando on July 9.
