Why Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are favourites to win the NBA title
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are one of the favorites to win the NBA title. Here we look what the reasons that the Bucks can be champions this season.
The bucks led by Giannis are having another dream season and are many people’s favorites to lift the NBA title this year.
Bucks have a record of 53-12 this season and currently sit at the top of the Eastern Conference. They will most certainly lift the Eastern Conference title, but can they win the NBA title this time around?

Reason 1 – Giannis Antetokounmpo
It helps to have one of the league’s best players on your team. Giannis will likely win the MVP again as he did last season and deserves so. Before the break-in play, he was averaging 29.6 points, 13.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks, and was shotting at 54.7% from the field. And he just playing 30.9 minutes per game.
This season, his stats are even better than his previous MVP winning season. Giannis has improved both offensively and defensively this season. His shooting percentage might have fallen off a tad bit from last year but points and rebounds per game have risen.
The ‘Greek Freak’ is the third-highest scorer in the league this as well as has the third-highest rebounding numbers. Without a title to his name till now, Giannis would be itching to bring the championship home from the ‘Bubble’ this time around.

Reason 2- Mike Budenholzer
Last year’s coach of the year and a much deserving candidate for the same this season.
Mike Budenholzer, is a defensive mastermind and will hold his players accountable for their performances every night. Up to this point, the Bucks ranks 1st in PPG, 1st in RPG, and 7th in APG. Putting up a whopping .815 winning percentage, they have been the best overall team in the league this season.
Bucks have the best winning percentage in the league, which is more than they had in the whole last season.
Bucks are one of the best shooting and defensive teams in the league and all the credits go to Mike.
Many of the top teams have a duo of All-star players. Bucks only had Giannis this season but Budenholzer has brought the best out of Khris Middleton this season. Middleton has averaged 21.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists this season. He also earned his first All-star jersey this season and deservedly so.

Reason 3- Defense
A large amount of the Bucks’ focus has been on the defensive end of the floor. They possess some of the best defenders in the game like Giannis, Middleton, Bledsoe just to name a few.
Bucks have the best defensive efficiency in the league this season with is 0.992.
They lead the league in rebounding with Giannis leading the way. They have the fifth-best ranking in points made against them in the league with just 107.4 points scored on an average between them.
The real defensive strength comes off the bench for the Bucks. As the players off the bench playing together have the best defensive record in the league.
With wins over Clippers and Lakers already in the regular season, Bucks would be hopeful for a first title since 1971.
