Sebastian Vettel opens dialogue with Aston Martin; Sergio Perez likely to face axe
Sebastian Vettel opens a dialogue with Aston Martin, would be able to depart Sergio Perez if they trigger his exit clause in the given time.
Sebastian Vettel’s future is still uncertain in Formula 1, but according to the Bild, Racing Point (Aston Martin from 2021) has accelerated their talks with the German racer, who is set to leave Ferrari in 2021.
In the current setup, Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll are holding up the two available seats, but the German publication claimes that Vettel will probably replace Perez for next year.
Even though the Mexican driver has a long term contract with the constructor, but it can be voided if Aston Martin presses the exit clause before July 31.
If this turns out to be true then it will be a huge shake-up in the Formula 1 grid, with Perez possibly having nowhere else to go, except for Alfa Romeo, if Kimi Raikkonen takes retirement after this season.
Apart from that every team’s lineup seems resolved with only Mercedes solving the new contract deals with their present set of drivers ahead of 2021.

Sebastian Vettel form is a concern
Even though Vettel is a veteran on track, but his current form is still a concern, he has done a pretty underwhelming job with Ferrari in the last two races.
However, much blame cannot be put on him, as the SF1000 is a disappointment itself and during Styrian GP, he could have hardly done anything to avoid the crash with his teammate Charles Leclerc.
On the other hand, the entourage at Racing Point is looking ambitious and are trying everything in the book to jump the ladder. Will Vettel joining them going to be bliss? It remains to be witnessed.
