Team News- Portland Trail Blazers
Its just a scrimmage game but the Blazers will look to get in shape as their season before the lockdown wasn’t that impressive. The returns of center Jusuf Nurkic and forward Zach Collins should however, provide them with a boost in the bubble.
Nurkic was out from March 2019 after breaking his leg and Zach was also suffering from a separated shoulder that kept both the players out of action for some time.
Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Hasan Whiteside have been itching to get on the court all through the lockdown and with a number 8 spot up for grabs, they would be highly motivated to set things right in the NBA Bubble.
Team News- Indiana Pacers
All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis is likely to miss today’s game due to plantar fasciitis. Some other players have also developed minor soft tissue injuries which could affect Nate McMillan’s strategy for the Scrimmage games.
Goga Bitadze and JaKarr Sampson are the players affected with soft tissue injuries, but other than that the Pacers should be able to field a full strength side.
It will be interesting to see how the Blazers and Pacers approach the first shortened Scrimmage game. Players could be a little rusty, especially with their shooting, but all in all, it should be an entertaining game with both sides hoping to get some good match practice under their belt.
