Is Giannis Antetokounmpo playing tonight vs Wizards? Bucks release injury report post oral surgery
‘Is Giannis Antetokounmpo playing tonight’ has been the question that all Bucks fans have been asking, especially after he underwent an oral surgery last night.
The reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo missed out on the Bucks’ clash against their rivals Toronto Raptors on Monday. The team stated Giannis might sit out against the Wizards as well, citing his oral surgery.
The team stated that the 25-year-old had some dental work done. Reports suggest that he has undergone a root canal surgery and hence missed out on the Bucks’ game vs Raptors. He did not travel outside the Bubble and got everything done in the Disney campus itself.

According to the Bucks’ coach Mike Budenholzer, the recovery time for Giannis is unprecedented. He also stated that he was extremely pleased with the NBA’s preparation with the bubble in Orlando.

Is Giannis Antetokounmpo playing tonight?
Owing to his oral surgery, the Bucks have listed Giannis as ‘questionable’ for tonight’s game vs Wizards. Even if Giannis does make an appearance, he would be on a minutes restriction.
The Bucks wouldn’t want a hit to the face for Giannis, one that could damage his tooth even further. And with nothing left to play for in the seeding games for the Bucks, they wouldn’t want to take any sort of chances with their talisman’s health.
This would also provide the Bucks a chance to test out their reserves and see how they can cope without Giannis being on the court for them.
The Bucks have played decently well within the Bubble, but their perimeter shooting has been a little underwhelming. With Giannis not really having that 3 point clutch shot in him, the Bucks seem a little out of ideas when they need that clutch 3 in the dying moments of a close game.
Middleton will really need to step up to the plate, if the Bucks want to go ahead and clinch that NBA title this season.
