Damian Lillard post game interview: Blazers star reveals why he took half-court ‘Logo Lillard’ shot
Damian Lillard post game interview after win vs Nets was focussed on the play-in tournament and his half-court 3 point shot, which helped them in getting over the line.
Lillard and the Blazers managed to sneak into the play-in tournament with a 1 point win vs Nets, in a see-saw game inside the Bubble.
With a solitary point lead for the Blazers, Nets’ LeVert took a step back shot to eliminate the Blazers, but the shot didn’t go in and Lillard breathed a sigh of relief.
Blazers are now in the play-in tournament against the Grizzlies, and as the 8th seed have a brilliant chance of making it to the playoffs.

With a 7 point lead for the Nets in the 4th quarter, the Blazers needed a Lillard special to dig them out of the hole they found themselves in.
And that is exactly what the Blazers talisman did, pulling up from half court and drilling in a long 3 to get some momentum back for the Blazers. The shot got the lead down to 3 and the Blazers were then back in the mix to win the game.

When asked about why he took that deep 3, Lillard said he was just trying to make the right play and not be very passive. He had a good look and went for it, no matter how deep he was.
“Each time I saw a look, I don’t care how far it was or if somebody was close to me, if I had a sniff I was raising up and shooting it and that’s why I shot that one.” Lillard said.
Dame also confessed that he wouldn’t have been able to sleep easy had he hesitated and not taken shots that he thought he could make, no matter how ridiculous they seemed.

Lillard and the Blazers now have a brilliant chance of making it to the playoffs, as the Grizzlies will need to beat them twice in two days, according to the NBA play-in rules.
With the kind of form the Blazers are in, it seems highly unlikely that the Grizzlies will be able to make it to the playoffs. Thus, brace yourself for a brilliant 7 game series between the Blazers and Lakers here in Orlando.
