Rashid Khan CPL six: The Afghani spinner is developing this habit of hitting unbelievable sixes despite his limited batting opportunities.

During the second match of the ongoing eighth season of the Caribbean Premier League between Barbados Tridents and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Tarouba, Barbados Tridents bowler Rashid Khan hit an astonishing six to take his fans’ breath away.

It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the 15th over when, playing only his first delivery, Rashid just flicked an Alzarri Joseph delivery for a six. While Rashid made it look like an effortless shot, it must’ve required a significant amount of timing and hand-eye coordination to execute such a shot on your first delivery after months.

Be it a regional match in Afghanistan, the Big Bash League or an international fixture against Zimbabwe, the 21-year old player has hit some magnificent shots in the last one year.

Talking about this match, Rashid scored 26* (20) with the help of two fours and a six at No. 10 to play a vital role in Tridents posting a competitive 153/9 in their allotted quota of 20 overs after opposition captain Rayad Emrit won the toss and opted to field.

In the second innings, Barbados’ terrific bowling unit restricted Patriots to 147/5 in 20 overs despite a brisk 50-run partnership between debutant Joshua Da Silva (41*) and Ben Dunk (34).

While all-rounder Mitchell Santner was the pick of Tridents’ bowlers with figures of 4-1-18-2, Rashid also contributed a great deal as he dismissed St Kitts and Nevis’ Denesh Ramdin (13) and Jahmar Hamilton (13) on successive deliveries in the 18th over.
