Pierre Gasly Anthoine Hubert Helmet: Alpha Tauri driver reveals a special tribute helmet for late Anthonie Hubert, ahead of Belgian Grand Prix.
The death of Anthonie Hubert was one of the most traumatic incidents of the history of the motorsport. Now, with the next Grand Prix is set to be in Belgium on Friday.
It will mark a year since Hubert died in that horrific crash at the same venue. Hubert’s death was even more affecting to the young drivers on the F1 grid, who were of his age as many of them knew each other since the youth days.
Last year, even Lewis Hamilton was on the venue, giving an interview, whilst the F2 race was happening, and he saw the accident live on a screen, the look on his face was enough to know that he saw something horrific and wished for Hubert’s safety.
Unfortunately, his wishes never reached to its purpose and Formula 1 world lost Hubert. With a year almost past us, Formula 1 plans to give a series of tribute to Hubert, and selected drivers even visited the spot of the car crash on Thursday to pay respect.

Gasly was one of the close associated drivers to Hubert and his death undoubtedly swayed him, Formula 1 fans got to witness the shock on the faces of these drivers through Netflix’s Drive to survive.
Where drivers like Gasly, Charles Leclerc and Alex Albon were clearly in a state of trauma upon getting to know about Hubert’s death and a few hours later they were supposed to be in their cars.
As time heals everyone, it also makes the heart grow fonder, Gasly has revealed a decorative helmet design on his social media to pay respect to Hubert on his first death anniversary at Spa.
Special helmet for a special friend.💖 Still struggling to believe that’s real, life can be brutal sometimes. Will give my best this weekend and try to make him proud. #AH19 pic.twitter.com/EFx50q8rSo

Surely it will be an emotional day on the track, with drivers still having vivid memories from that day and knowing the risks involved in this sport.
