“I don’t understand the criticism of Albon”- Red Bull F1 defends Alex Albon after Lewis Hamilton remarks
Red Bull F1 defends their driver amidst mild criticism from Lewis Hamilton after Belgian Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen had a fine day at Spa, as he continues to challenge the hegemony of Mercedes by hanging onto the podium.But his teammate Alex Albon lately haven’t been standing up to the expectations of Red Bull, considering what the duo of Valtteri Bottas-Lewis Hamilton putting on the table.
On Sunday, after the race, Hamilton attacked Albon and mentioned that Verstappen is the lone warrior.
“People downplay it, but Red Bull have got a very, very strong car,” he said. “Unfortunately, both drivers aren’t there like me and Valtteri are there… That makes it harder for them.
“I experienced it many years ago with McLaren and I was the driver that was always at the front and didn’t have a team-mate backing up.
“So, you equally don’t get the constructors’ points and then can’t play with strategy on the cars they are racing against…. So he’s kind of there on his own.”

Soon, Helmut Marko came into in defense for Albon and mentioned that the Red Bull pairing is one of the strongest pairs in the paddock.
“I don’t understand the criticism of Albon,” said Marko. “Other team-mates also had a lot of trouble with Max… I don’t see it that Max is pushing him to the limit, but that he is pushing himself. I think we have a good pairing there.”
With this, Red Bull has also mentioned that this will be the same pair for 2020 while quashing rumours of Sebastian Vettel’s arrival in the team.
On the other hand, Max Verstappen is performing at a very high level, presently the Dutch driver stands second on the table in the Championship.
