‘What if’ and ‘Too good’- Joel Embiid tweets for Jimmy Butler who leads Heat to win vs Bucks
Joel Embiid, who’s been a teammate of Jimmy Butler for over half a season in Philadelphia, was full of praises for his 40-point game against the Bucks today.
Jimmy Butler was universally loved and respected by teammates and fans alike during his time with the 76ers. Evidently, Joel Embiid is still to get over the loss of his favourite teammate and closer from last season. Butler was acquired by the Philadelphia 76ers after a lengthy trade saga during his second season with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Joel Embiid is missing Jimmy Butler on his team
Jimmy Butler lit it up against the Milwaukee Bucks today from all parts of the floor. He shot jump shots in a manner that he hadn’t for most of the season, including converting 2 3-pointers from pull-up situations.
Overall, his two-way presence was crucial in the Heat staging a comeback from a 10-point deficit in the second half.
Joel Embiid’s watching the playoffs from home. He’s probably rooting for his former teammate, and his Twitter suggests as much.
The Sixers star tweeted an ‘if’, suggesting that he still wonders what could have happened in Philadelphia, if Jimmy Butler had stayed. He then went onto tweet a ‘too good’ for Butler, who led Heat to a brilliant win vs Bucks in Game 1.
Embiid could be on the move next season and a teaming up with Jimmy Butler once again could very well be an option.

The contrast between the 76ers’ postseason and the Heat’s campaign could not be starker. The Sixers got swept in Ben Simmons’ absence, while the Heat swept the 4th-seeded Pacers in the first round.
With Embiid tweeting for Jimmy Butler and rumors suggesting that he could be on the move, should the Sixers fans be worried about Embiid really leaving Philadelphia?
