Younis Khan accuses Sachin Tendulkar of ball tampering

Younis Khan has dropped a bomb on the cricketing world by claiming to have seen the great Sachin Tendulkar tamper the ball.

Ball tampering has been a very dubious concept in cricket with there being no clarity about what it circumscribes.

Faf Du Plesis was recently fined for apparently using ‘sailva mixed with gum’ to alter the condition of the ball.

Players in the past have been fined/banned for using their finger nails to remove dirt/grass from the sea, an act that is categorised as ‘ball tampering’.

The ICC wants players to consult the umpire when they feel that the seam of the ball is affected in any which way.

Younis Khan feels that Ball tampering happens all around the world, as players try to use innovative ways to make the ball behave in a certain way.

“Ball tampering happens, people do it in different ways. England and Australia use a gum or a sweet to shine the ball. Du Plessis did it with his zipper and even Sachin was once doing it with his nails but these things weren’t paid much attention to because of the strong cricket boards. If any extreme or obvious tampering is done, it should be stopped so that future generations and the kids know it’s wrong” said Younis Khan in an interview with a Pakistani Channel.

He feels that players from big boards get away with it because of their strong hold in world cricket.

Younis was also asked about match fixing allegations in Pakistan Cricket during the Australian tour and how he dealt with bookies approaching him.

“Regarding Kamran Akmal’s missed chances in Sydney Test, these things happen when players are under so much pressure. If there is any suspicion, why has he come back to the team so often, even recently? If there is evidence against him then it should be brought out in the open otherwise the matter should be left alone,” he said.

“I have never been approached my fixers. The reason for that is that when I leave the ground, I keep out of the picture,” he concluded
