Nick Kyrgios sends out a warning before Wimbledon

Nick Kyrgios is that eccentric little brat whom you can never count on or count out. While people might question is attitude, there are very few who can question the skill that he possesses. The young Australian has excelled on the big stage multiple times and is a serious Grand Slam contender, at least on grass and hard courts.

Having suffered a horrific slip in his first-round match in Queen’s, it felt like Kyrgios might not be able to make it to Wimbledon, but he has come out and cleared the air, saying that he is definitely going to compete at Wimbledon, and would be looking to win it as well.

“I honestly do think I can win it. Might need a bit of luck – and everything to fall into place – but I do believe I can win,” he told reporters at the The Boodles exhibition event.

Kyrgios has been battling with this hip injury for the past 6-7 months, but was happy to play an exhibition game against Kohlschreiber(and winning it 6-4,6-4) before coming into Wimbledon.

Kyrgios is seeded 20th at Wimbledon and will be vying to become the first Australian in 15 years to win the title.

“It’s perfect preparation for me to come here and just sort of have a laid-back vibe but obviously play some pretty good tennis as well, so I’m feeling good, he said

I took some time off after Queen’s and just rehabbed and looked after it. I’ve had this hip injury pretty much for the last six, seven months so it’s been giving me grief. But hopefully it’s settled down a bit and I’m looking forward to playing Wimbledon.”

Kyrgios is very confident of bettering his previous showings at Wimbledon, as he feels he is the correct headspace to go deep into the tournament.

“Some would say I’m probably not in the best shape this year to go in and expect something, but I feel like if I’m serving well and I’m playing the right style of tennis, the sky’s the limit at Wimbledon,” Kyrgios said.

“Obviously anyone with a big game, the surface is pretty favourable.” he further added
