“It pissed me off”: LeBron James slams NBA MVP voting and takes dig at Giannis Antetokounmpo for MVP snub
4-time NBA MVP LeBron James is pissed about the fact that he did not get the MVP trophy and took a sly dig at Giannis Antetokounmpo
LeBron James is in his 17th season in the league. He has already won 3 rings, has had 16x All NBA team selections, 16 All-Star selections, and 4 MVP trophies, but he isn’t seeming to slow down.
Earlier today, Giannis Antetokounmpo won his second consecutive MVP trophy. This did not really sit right with the King.
After today’s 126-114 win over the Nuggets, where LBJ finished with 15pts, 12assists, and 6 rebounds, James had something to say about the same.

“The voting scale is weird for me sometimes,” says James
LeBron James finished second in the MVP race for the 4th time in his career this season. He feels as if the voting scales aren’t always balanced for him. He believes people have started treating what he does as normal and it bothers him.
“Let’s not get it twisted. I’m great. The voting scale is a little weird for me sometimes,” @KingJames on MVP voting.

The final list of the MVP voting is here and we can see it wasn’t even a close competition. Giannis had 85 1st place votes and 16 2nd place votes. LeBron finished 2nd with 16 1st place votes and 84 2nd place votes.

LeBron clearly wasn’t happy about getting that few 1st place votes and his tweet says it all.
🤣🤣16 out of 101 🗳! Ok cool! I got y’all.

Reactions to the MVP announcement
The NBA twitter and the community, in general, had a lot of things to say about Giannis winning the Maurice Podoloff trophy for the 2nd straight time. There were a lot of views about how LeBron James is the only top 3 MVP candidate still in the playoffs and made cases about why he deserves it more.

People tend to forget that the NBA MVP trophy is for extraordinary performance throughout the regular season. Giannis clearly was the best player in the regular season. He improved his stats from his previous MVP season as well as led Milwaukee to a league-leading record.
