MS Dhoni catch vs Delhi Capitals: The captain of Chennai Super Kings put on display an exceptional fielding effort against Delhi Capitals.

During the seventh match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings in Dubai, Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni put on display an exceptional fielding effort to dismiss his counterpart in Shreyas Iyer.

It all happened on the last delivery of the penultimate over when Iyer’s attempt to up the ante against Chennai all-rounder Sam Curran saw him outside edging the ball behind the wicket.

With the ball hit to Dhoni’s right, the 39-year old player was airborne was a fraction of a second before grabbing an extra-ordinary catch to rewind the clock. Iyer, who came in to bat at No. 4 in the 13th over over Shimron Hetmyer, ended up scoring 26 (22) with the help of one four.

After Dhoni won the toss and chose to field, Capitals scored a competitive 175/3 in 20 overs on the back of their opening batsmen in Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan (35) sharing a 94-run opening partnership.

In what was his fourth IPL half-century, Shaw top-scored for DC with 64 (43) with the help of nine fours and a six. With bowling figures of 4-0-33-2, CSK spinner Piyush Chawla was their best bowler after Curran.

Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood, who made his IPL debut today, bowled well to give away just 28 runs in his four overs.
