Novak Djokovic Has An Interesting Way To Communicate With Coaches
Coaches have always played a huge role in sports. While in some sports like cricket, they do not have much input during the math, in other games like football and hockey they can directly affect the proceedings from the sidelines.
But tennis is a funny one. While they are sitting right beside the court, they do not directly influence the game. Several players have always thought of finding a way in which they could help their player a bit more but nothing tangible ever came out of it.
Novak Djokovic has an idea though.
The former world number one has suggested the use of headsets, which would allow the players to communicate with the coaches.

“This is kind of an intimate conversation where you feel comfortable that you communicate wire lessly with your coach who is there.
“Of course, when it’s within that time limit, respect towards the other player, the rhythm of the server.
“They’ve said that the TV audience possibly could hear what you were speaking with your player…[you] still have to be a bit careful.”
“I think, if you have a coach, why not try to use him during the match itself,” he said.
“I mean, we’re probably one of the only, maybe only global sport that doesn’t use coaching during the play.
“Even golf, individual sport, you have caddies that you communicate with throughout the entire course.”
This would be a new initiative and might change how we see the game for ever. The use of headsets may be something that the tennis authorities should look at very closely.
Let us see what happens!
