‘LaMelo Ball to be number 1 overall pick in 2020 NBA Draft’: Timberwolves to get Ball unless they trade their pick

Front offices around the league are claiming LaMelo Ball is at the top of their draft leaderboard for this 2020 NBA Draft.

The top 3 picks in this year’s NBA draft have perhaps been set in stone since the beginning of the 2019-20 NBA season. Though this is not a star studded draft class, Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman, and LaMelo Ball have caught almost every team’s eye.

LaMelo Ball is most definitely the most intriguing prospect of those 3. This is due to his unorthodox path to the draft. From high school to Lithuania to the NBL in Australia, LaMelo has played basketball at many levels.

Recently, the Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor reported that LaMelo may fall down out of the top 3, to perhaps even New York with the 8^th pick.

However, now it is being reported many believe he is the number 1 pick in this draft.

Front offices are high on LaMelo Ball; say he’s the number 1 overall pick.

This 2020 draft class boasts of a plethora of solid NBA prospects who have the tools to succeed in the NBA. This would include players such as Patrick Williams, Saddiq Bey, and Tryrell Terry.

Ball is something of a shot in the dark as he has refused to work out for any teams drafting in the lottery. The last time LaMelo Ball played a professional game was more than a year ago. So this is the only footage teams have to go off of when considering Ball.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have the number 1 overall pick. They seem quite adamant in not wanting to trade this pick.

With LaMelo projected to go 1^st for a lot of front offices, it will be interesting to see if the Wolves pair LaMelo up with D’Angelo in the backcourt.
