‘Michael Jordan’s golf course is called Slaughterhouse23’: Why ‘The GOAT’ is invincible on his home turf
Michael Jordan’s competitive streak means that he’s even had his golf course in Hobe Sound, Florida tailored to his strengths.
Actually called The Grove XXIII, this is a course which brings the best out of Michael Jordan’s golf swing. The GOAT is well-known for his incurably competitive streak across all aspects of life. According to PGA Tour golfer Robbie Fowler, Jordan is so dominant on his home turf that the course has been nicknamed ‘Slaughterhouse23’.

Jordan’s golf club is designed in such a way that you can play your way through four different combinations of front and back nines. His Airness often engages in golfing weekends to indulge himself.
How is Slaughterhouse23 designed to maximize Michael Jordan’s wins
Known for finding any edge possible against his opponents, Jordan has shaped his golf course to meet his game perfectly. The 57-year-old can hit driver on almost all par fours and fives, according to Fowler.
“It’s his golf course, so it’s set up very well for him … It’s almost the shorter you hit it, the wider it is. The tees and pins are done every day, so the golf course basically sets up around him — they can play as long as you want but they set the back tees at roughly, you know, 7,000 to 7,100 (yards) and MJ plays the back tees wherever they set them.”
“If I want to hit driver, I have to kind of put it into a little bit of a tighter spot,” Fowler said. “I can obviously play back if I want, but that becomes a little bit of a disadvantage, especially if it’s a hole where he’s getting a stroke.”
“He’s great with wedges in his hands, around the greens, and as a bunker player. He’ll putt anyone straight up. If I’m giving him a shot, I can’t then play from the same spot he is when he’s laying zero.”
