“I’m in Bahrain, I have my super license”- Haas’ reserve driver Louis Deletrez pleads Mercedes to let him replace Lewis Hamilton for Sakhir GP.

Lewis Hamilton was diagnosed COVID-19 positive earlier on Tuesday, which means, in no capacity, the 7 times World Champion would be appearing for his team this weekend in Bahrain.

Yet there is much curiosity about his replacement, with many speculating multiple drivers to sit for Mercedes on this Friday. Amidst all of this, Haas’ current reserve driver and F2 driver for Charouz, Louis Deletrez has volunteered himself already to the job this weekend.

“Hi, @MercedesAMGF1. I’m in Bahrain, I have my super license, Haas is not using me. Also, I was on the podium on that exact same track two days ago. Please?” wrote Deletrez while retweeting one of Mercedes’ tweets.

Even in the absence of Romain Grosjean, Haas didn’t choose Deletrez to race for the American team for the Sakhir GP and went for Pietro Fittipaldi, who is going to make his debut in Formula 1.

Mercedes to aks for George Russell

In the recent reports, it has been found out that Mercedes is trying to get George Russell to race for them in the second race at Bahrain this season, but since he is committed with Williams, it might not happen unless Williams allows it to happen.

“Mercedes will try to ask Williams for George Russell’s availability, in the hope that they give their okay. Russell is the first choice but if Williams says no, Vandoorne is the second driver on Toto’s list.”

The Silver Arrows are viewing a future with Russell to replace either Hamilton or Valtteri Bottas in the near future and they see it as a great opportunity to give Russell a try out with the current car.

However, it doesn’t suit the interests of Williams, at least from outside, Russell is a talented driver and Williams hasn’t even earned a single point this season.

And now if Russell goes for this race to Mercedes, it will downhill their any chance of gaining a point at Bahrain or this season.
