‘Pretty simple bud, just get out of the way’: Steven Adams’ hilarious response to question about Pelicans spacing with Zion Williamson
Steven Adams had an amusing response when asked by reporters about how the Pelicans were planning to provide spacing for Zion Williamson.
The Pelicans have identified Zion Williamson as their franchise cornerstone. The no. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Zion’s rookie year was indicative of how great he can be. The 6’6″ swingman demonstrated his ability to get buckets with ease.
With better dieting, conditioning and fitness, Zion can also become a lockdown defender. Many have also projected his future as a small-ball center in the vein of Draymond Green.
The Pelicans have retooled in the offseason. Signing Brandon Ingram to a max contract was a major consolidatory move. The Pelicans traded Jrue Holiday away in exchange for the depth offered by George Hill and Eric Bledsoe.

The amount of talent that Zion has on the offensive end makes him useful in tons of scenarios. It does not stand to any sort of reason that he would only be used well alongside shooters. Steven Adams and Zion can combine to devastating effect as roll men.
With a few post moves added to his arsenal, Zion could legitimately become an all-time great. He’s already one of the most elite inside scorers in the league.
