‘If Kevin Durant played this year’s playoffs, LeBron James would be LeGone’: Skip Bayless reignites debate if KD is better than Lakers star
Skip Bayless waxed eloquent about Kevin Durant, saying he’d rather have him than 2020 Finals MVP LeBron James.
After a protracted injury recovery that took over a year, Durant is back in action. He’s been dominant in both of his preseason outings. The Nets look poised to have a 55-win season and snag a high seed in the East in a shortened season.
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving fit together like a hand in a glove, both on paper as well as on court. Both of them are capable playmakers who can create their own shot in practically every situation. They have an A-grade supporting cast, with tons of wings and shooters on the roster.
But as good as either of these players is, LeBron James has now been the standard-bearer of the league for at least 10 years. It’s going to be harder than ever to beat him, considering he’s playing with the most talented teammate he’s ever had.
Skip Bayless raves about Kevin Durant, says he’s better than LeBron James
Bayless believes the preseason is but a sign of things to come. He believes there’s a storm brewing in Brooklyn, something that’ll blow the crown right off The King.
“I just watched Kevin Durant block his 3rd shot, dribble the ball up, pull up for an easy three. 25 points in 3 quarters. And I’m thinking, who on this planet is better than this man? Imagine how different the Bubble playoffs would’ve been if KD had been healthy. LeGone James.”

By all accounts, KD and Kyrie represent a potent threat to the reigning champions. But it would be foolhardy to write off LeBron James based on preseason results alone.
