The emphatic Warriors’ forward has been ruled out due to a muscle strain in the right foot. Green’s MRI came clean, and HC Steve Kerr said his status is day to day. Draymond Green and James Wiseman were the two Warriors who missed practice as well. They had tested positive for Covid-19 and were following the league protocols.
Draymond Green out, James Wiseman to play season opener vs Nets
The Golden State Warriors take on the Brooklyn Nets at Brooklyn for the NBA season opener. It is a much-anticipated matchup, as both of these teams have their star players returning from injuries.
The last time Kevin Durant played an NBA regular season game, he did so in a Warriors uniform. His first game back would be against the Warriors as well. Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving look healthy and ready for the season as well.
Among all the stars, it would also be a new-look Warriors team on the court tonight. Most of these players are new to the team and haven’t played a lot with Curry before.
One of these new players is the Warriors’ #2 Draft Pick this year – James Wiseman. He missed all of the preseason games and team practices due to Covid-19, in accordance with league protocols about the same. Coach Kerr wants his star rookie to enjoy his first professional game. He also says Wiseman’s role would be limited right now and would increase as the season goes on.
The Warriors take on the Nets at 7PM ET tonight.
