“It’s over…..it’s over”: Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram trash talked Raptors players before hitting free throw to seal the game
Brandon Ingram was as clutch as anybody could be while sending the Raptors packing and helping the Pelicans to a 4-2 record last night.
The Pelicans earned a hard-fought back-to-back win over the Raptors last night. This completes their season double over Toronto. The second game was a lot closer than the first, which New Orleans won in a 113-99 blowout.
Ingram and the Pelicans rallied to take back the lead from Toronto in the 3rd quarter. Although the Raps seemed to threaten taking it back themselves, New Orleans held on. The game was between one and two possessions for most of the final period as both teams got into foul trouble.
All 5 Pelicans starters finished in double digits. Steven Adams had himself a 13 point, 10 rebound double-double, while Bledsoe’s double-double involved him getting 19 points and 10 dimes. Ingram led all scorers with 31 points on the night, while Zion had 21.

With 2.6 seconds left on the game clock, Ingram got fouled by the Raps with the score at 118-116 in the Pels’ favor. Ingram stepped up to the charity stripe and gamely converted his first freebie. Before he got the ball for his second attempt, Ingram looked around and exclaimed “It’s over” 3 times.

Ingram finished off the job by making his second attempt, turning the game into a 2-possession game. The Raps had little else to do except running the clock out after that.
Toronto had Fred Van Vleet top scoring for them with 27 points on the night. Chris Boucher had himself a game off the bench with 24 points in 29 minutes. But Pascal Siakam continued with his underwhelming start to the season, just about hitting double figures with 10 points.
It seems teams have figured out how to neutralize the Cameroonian forward. Siakam needs really to step his game up if he is to justify his monster contract.
